On Sunday 12 April, Japan Day took place, now a well-established fixture within the Asian Film Festival. Representing the Japanese Cultural Institute, Isabella Lapalorcia and Ayumi Kumiko were in attendance. The day featured the highly anticipated appearance of director Fukada Kōji, who presented his film *Love on Trial* and engaged with the enthusiastic audience. The director himself was the star of two side events: the meeting on Friday 11 April at the Liceo Lucrezio Caro, where the director, together with his colleague Isabel Sandoval, led a lively discussion with the students; on the same day, the Japanese director was a guest at the Japanese Cultural Institute for a meeting with journalists, followed by a screening of the film and a discussion with the audience.
